Iceland · 10 Days / 9 Nights · Self-Drive
Drive the entire Ring Road in winter. Northern lights, ice caves, frozen waterfalls and empty roads — 10 days of Arctic solitude with a 4x4 and pre-booked accommodation.
Arrive at Keflavík airport and pick up your 4x4 vehicle. Drive to Reykjavik, settle in and explore the capital. First night aurora watch from the city outskirts.
Drive the Golden Circle visiting Þingvellir National Park, the erupting Geysir and the partially frozen Gullfoss waterfall — spectacular in its winter ice formations.
Drive the south coast past frozen waterfalls at Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Continue through Vík and the dramatic winter landscape of black beaches dusted with snow.
Explore Skaftafell National Park and Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Optional ice cave tour inside the Vatnajökull glacier — a once-in-a-lifetime winter experience with crystal blue ice formations.
Scenic coastal driving through the East Fjords. Snow-capped mountains plunge into the sea as you wind through fishing villages and dramatic mountain passes.
Drive to the Mývatn geothermal area with its bubbling mud pools and steam vents. Visit Dettifoss — Europe's most powerful waterfall, even more dramatic surrounded by ice and snow.
Explore Akureyri, the capital of the north. Optional whale watching in Eyjafjörður. Visit Goðafoss waterfall — the "waterfall of the gods" — framed by winter ice.
Drive west to the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Photograph Kirkjufell mountain in winter snow, walk the coast at Arnarstapi and explore lava fields beneath the glacier-topped Snæfellsjökull volcano.
Return to Reykjavik. Optional visit to the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa. Final evening to explore the city's restaurants and nightlife.
Drop off your 4x4 at the airport and depart Iceland. Trip ends.
